Installation with mirror. Publication, print and marble dust.
Siena Art Institute, 2012
Well was a temporary installation within Siena Art Institute's courtyard using a mirror in a disused well for their inaugural exhibition. The mirror blocked access to the potential for access to water below while mimicking its reflective properties, turning the dark void of the well into a focal point within the courtyard which reflected both moonlight and daylight.
This work was accompanied by a publication, a poem and a print installed elsewhere in the galleries. The publication gathered together a range of work from international artists and writers and students studying within the Institute which all in some way responded to the theme of absence and voids. The publication resides in the permanent collection of SIA's library.
